(Re)Live Moments Through a Visual-First Storytelling
Over five long weeks, for the 77th edition of the Holland Festival, I led the art direction for a visually expressive microsite extending the festival beyond the stage. The project responds to how audiences often leave with fleeting or incomplete impressions of performances.

Grounded in research and guided by the expressive design qualities of Chris Ashworth and principles from Ellen Lupton, the approach focused on translating theatrical energy into a digital format. Bold imagery, layered content, and expressive interactions encourage exploration and deeper engagement in a way that feels intuitive, immersive, and reflective of the festival itself.

As an online archive for performances, the microsite and visual branding intend to encapsulate the energy into a Visual-First approach for storytelling, designed to help attendees revisit and deepen their connection to performances after they end.

However, more than just a documentation tool, the microsite serves as an extension of the festival, creating a space where moments can be revisited, reinterpreted, and relived. This academic project demonstrates how a strong narrative and visual system can transform how audiences engage with performance beyond its original context.
