Understanding stats is part of the game. Knowledge is key. One player eCreating your own API or sourcing messy data shouldn't feel like a PhD or at all required in order to remain competitive.

[01] Fragmented Data: To win the league, Fantasy Managers need to translate real-time statistics into gaining fantasy points. But when the key information is spread across multiple platforms, it becomes nearly impossible to get a complete picture in one place. The context that actually drives confident decision-making lives somewhere else.
[02] Communicate belonging: The average Yahoo Fantasy user visits 2.7 sites to make a single roster decision. The Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association found that managers heavily rely on external tools like AI, social media posts, and third-party analyzers. Our interviewees echoed the same sentiment; using multiple platforms was required just to understand the overarching stats Yahoo presented.

As a video gamer and sports player, I find them enjoyable when information is given to me tastefully. In games, they provide tooltips that aid me in completing that level. Games provide tooltips that help you clear the level, solutions to challenges that feel rewarding and natural, once you understand the gap. I shouldn't need to open a different web-wiki to play.

Tackling the first problem was giving the platform a visual refresh. Three of four interviewees who use Yahoo as their primary platform preferred the visuals and usability of competing apps.
